A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara Natalie Mendel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Dhamaraj officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 10:30 a.m. Barbara Natalie Mendel, 88, of Alexandria, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. Natalie is preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Geneviea Troquille Delrie; five brothers, Shelton, Shirley, Junior, Frank and Payton Delrie; four sisters, Edna White, Essie Mae Lavespere, Una Vee Swope and Verla Mae White; and one great-grandson, Kaleb Clark. Natalie was born on August 4, 1933. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved to square dance, go bowling, fishing, gardening, watching the Saints play, being the number one fan of her great-grandchildren at their sporting events, and above all else, she loved spending quality time with her family. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Edward Mendel; two daughters, Nelda Lavespere and Mary Lavespere; three grandchildren, Anthony Cain, Stephanie Clark and Kristie Ramos; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Cain, Lakin Gremillion, Katie Couvillion, Hailey Couvillion, and Abie Bennett; two great-great-grandchildren, Colden Gunnells and Noah Cain; and two stepsons, Matthew and Eddie Holland. Pallbearers honored to serve include Anthony Cain, Matthew Cain, Kevin Ramos, Brian Swope, Tommy Delrie and Bruce Swope. Honorary pallbearer honored to serve will be Ronald Saucier.
