Funeral Services for Calvin Lee Carlock will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home in Alexandria with Rev. Douglas Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens. Visitation will also take place on Friday at the funeral home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Calvin Lee Carlock, 88, of Boyce, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the Bayou Chateau Nursing Center in Simmesport, La. Calvin is preceded in death by his mother and father; two sons, Kenneth and Clifford Carlock; one granddaughter, Noelle Polk; and one grandson, Dylan McDaniel. Those left to cherish Calvin’s memory include his loving wife of 35 years, Pauline Carlock; three sons Ronald, Robert and Norman Carlock; Wally Polk of Mobile, AL., and his wife Kelli; one daughter, Monica Polk; one brother, Paul Carlock and his wife Karen; ten grandchildren, Jimmy, Greg, Chrystal, Nicholas, Madison, Cameron, BreAnna, Savanna, and the two children of Norman Carlock; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Calvin was born on November 5, 1933, in Carbondale, Illinois. He retired from the United States Air Force after honorably serving for 22 years. He owned CL Carlock and Sons and enjoyed planting trees for the Boise Cascade company. Calvin was a devoted husband and father and will be remembered by his grandchildren as a great Paw Paw. His family and friends will remember him for his generous smile, his love for motorcycles and his many jokes he loved to tell. Through his sense of humor and his ability to fix everything, he helped coin the term “Calvinized.” Calvin’s family would like to thank the many nursing home staff members that helped over the years.
