Graveside services for Coy Stephenson Edwards, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Woodland Memorial Cemetery in Jena, LA., under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. Coy Stephenson Edwards, Jr., 94, of Alexandria, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, in Pineville, LA. Coy is preceded in death by his parents, Coy Stephenson Edwards, Sr. and Elizabeth Edwards; one brother, Charles Edwards; and one sister, Thelma Cowart. Coy was born on May 1, 1928, in Wallace Ridge, LA. He enlisted in the Navy and was ultimately honorably discharged, receiving a National Defense Service Medal. After his time in the Navy, Coy lived in the Bay Area city of Hayward, California, for over 20 years, where he worked as a technician for California Pacific Bell Phone Company. He raised his family in California before returning to Louisiana to live out his retirement years. He truly lived out his retirement years to the fullest as everyone knew him as a easy-going, fun and gentle soul. Coy loved singing silly songs, especially if he was singing those songs to his grandchildren. His family recalls the amazing impact he had on his grandchildren and everyone around him. He always did everything he could to put smiles on everyone’s faces and will forever be remembered as a sweet gentleman to all. Those left to cherish his memory include his two siblings, Dicie Davis and Doris Edwards; four children, Carol Edwards Chester, Larry Eugene Edwards, Elizabeth Anne Brown and Michelle Lee Edwards; eight grandchildren, Scott Edwards, Justin Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Jefferson Little, Steven Cassel, Alexander Edwards, Timothy Blake Peterson and Cheyenne Green; and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Steven Cassel, Alexander Edwards, Timothy Blake Peterson, Andy Edwards, Mike Davis and Steve Davis.
