Donna Lynn Hicks Gatlin

A funeral service for Donna Lynn Hicks Gatlin will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Colfax Baptist church with Reverends Richard DeBusk, Travis Sanders & Bob Boyt officiating. Interment will follow at Colfax Cemetery under the direction of Kramer of Colfax. Visitation will be at Colfax Baptist Church beginning Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Donna Lynn Hicks Gatlin, 66, of Colfax, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Judy Hicks; and her brother, Rick Hicks. Donna was born on August 17, 1955. She was a member of Colfax Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, farmer’s wife, and she also ran an in-home daycare. She loved her community and served in several community organizations through the years, including the Colfax Young Women, Colfax Lion’s Club, and the Louisiana Pecan Festival Board of Directors. Donna loved her family dearly. She expressed that love through her favorite pastime of watching all of her children and grandchildren in all their extracurricular activities. She was her family’s number one fan. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 40 years, Eddie Gatlin; four daughters, Betsy Dunaway (Preston), Susan Barnhart (Clifford), Nora Gatlin (Beau), and Jamie Welch (Derek); one brother, Michael Hicks (Rena); one sister, Rebecca Hicks; two sisters-in-law, Joy Hicks and Sandra Hardy (Paul); 11 grandchildren, Robby, Brady, Ethan, Cullen, Pierce, Beau, Ronni Marie, Ryleigh, Isabella, Bentley and Raelynn; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Pallbearers honored to serve include Robby Dunaway, Brady Carbo, Pierce Goff, Cullen Carbo, Bentley Vercher, Beau Zito, Derek Welch, Clifford Barnhart, Preston Lyles and Beau Britton. Honorary pallbearers honored to serve include John Dunaway, DeWayne Walker, Greg Carbo II, Ryan Zito, Alan Goff, Steven Vercher, Ethan Barnhart and Drew Zito.
