Mrs. Doris Ann "Dot" Luckett Jordan
June 24, 1925 - March 4, 2022
Doris Ann “Dot” Luckett Jordan Doris Ann “Dot” Luckett Jordan passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, March 4th, 2022, at her home in Mandeville, LA, where she lived for the past twelve years. Visitation will be held at Kramer Funeral Home on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. followed by a chapel service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Craig Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, under the direction of Kramer Funeral Home. Born June 24, 1925, in Manifest, LA, Dot moved to Alexandria, LA, at an early age, and lived there most of her life. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Alexandria before moving to Mandeville. Dot was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, an organization of women who are lineal descendants of an ancestor who lived and served prior to 1701 in one of the Original Colonies. She and her sisters took great pride in the extensive genealogical research they completed (with no internet!) for membership in this organization, which is dedicated to the preservation of historic sites and records. An excellent cook, Dot loved when her young grandson wrote that his favorite food was “MaMa’s gumbo”. Gardening was another gift, and she could make any space beautiful with plants and flowers. Dot was a talented seamstress and she excelled at French hand sewing. Voted “Cutest” at Bolton High School, Dot was cute until the very end. She wouldn’t dream of missing her weekly hair salon appointment, and always had beautifully polished nails which she insisted on doing herself. Feisty, spunky, and always ready with a clever retort, Dot endeared herself to those around her. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Jordan, her grandson Devon Sistrunk, and sisters Mary Yvonne “Bobbie” Crowell and Frances Vawter. Survivors include two daughters, Frances Ann Jordan of Memphis, TN and Juliana Jordan Sistrunk (Michael) of Madisonville, LA; four grandchildren, Jana Minton Soefker (Shane) of Memphis, TN; Michael Royce Sistrunk Jr. (Lindsey) of Cedar Park, TX; Jordan Paul Sistrunk of Austin, TX; and Chandler Sistrunk Luke (William) of Covington, LA.; and nine great-grandchildren, Abigail Soefker, Walter Soefker, Mia Soefker, Paulina Soefker, Michael Sistrunk III, Kane Sistrunk, Arya Sistrunk, Ryan Claire Luke, and Cason Gerard Luke. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of The Windsor Senior Living Community in Mandeville, LA for their love and care over the past twelve years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Dr., Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
