Eugene "Gene" Guillot Jr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Private Services will be held for Eugene “Gene” Guillot with Rev. Chad Partain officiating under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. Gene,88, of Alexandria, passed away, Sunday, January 31, 2021, surrounded by his family. Gene is preceded in death by parents, Eugene Guillot, Sr. and Willie Lee Leona Beauregard; and several of his aunts and uncles. Gene was born in 1932, during the Depression Era and very hard times. He grew up playing baseball with the Echo Squirts, played basketball and graduated from Poland High School. He then met the love of his life and secretly married his precious, Nelda and then left for the Navy. Gene served in the Korean Conflict on a Navy Recovery Ship as a Frogman. After three years of service, Gene then returned to Alexandria and worked for Bell South. Gene later worked for the AFL-CIO and then as a legislative lobbyist. He was a great storyteller, lived life to the fullest, was larger than life, and a man of all trades. Gene was loved by all who knew him. He was very active in his community, including the Shriners. He will be missed by all who knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Nelda; his children, Denise Guillot, Marcie (Dennis) Hargroder, Gene Wesley Guillot, Paulette (Chris) Forstall; Johnathan Guillot, his first grandson, who was like a son to him; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Guillot and Cheri Gagnard (Dale); and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
