A Mass of Christian Burial for Freddie Paul Dufour will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Fifth Ward with Rev. Dan O’Connor officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery under the direction of Kramer of Fifth Ward. Visitation will be held at Kramer of Fifth Ward, on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. officiated by Deacon Darrell Dubroc. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Freddie Paul Dufour, 67, of Fifth Ward, was born on September 29, 1954, and passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at his residence. Freddie is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lemoine Dufour; his mother, Zilda Cooper; his father, Willie Dufour; his brother, Wiley Dufour; and his sister, Mary Dufour Liotta. Freddie was a devoted husband to his wife, Mary; father to his daughter, Christina; and grandfather to his only grandson, Asher. Freddie graduated from Fifth Ward High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America. After high school, Freddie became a Ragin’ Cajun at the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He married the love of his life, Mary, in June of 1984 and together, they adopted their daughter, Christina, in February of 2000. He worked 19 years as a Computer Analyst for the financial company, Gulfco; and he went on to work for the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he retired after 23 years as a Deputy Computer Analyst. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Christina Dufour, her fiancé, Hagen Temple, and their son, Asher Temple; his brother-in-law, David Lemoine; and his nephew, Colby Lemoine.
