A Mass of Christian Burial for Jane Williamson Hollier will be celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul LaPalme officiating and Rev. Chad Partain concelebrating. Entombment will follow in the Alexandria Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the Kramer chapel. Visitation will follow until 7:30 p.m. and will resume Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Jane Williamson Hollier, 86, of Alexandria, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at her residence. Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Clyde Hollier; her parents, Clifton & Lucille Williamson; her sister-in-law, Brenda Williamson; nephew, Adam Williamson; and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. Jane was born on November 22, 1935, in New Orleans, LA. She graduated from Leon Godchaux High School in Reserve, LA. Jane then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1959 from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. She taught at Delmont Elementary School in Baton Rouge and St. Frances Cabrini School in Alexandria, LA. Jane and Clyde met on a blind date on Halloween night in 1959 at one of the most epic football games in LSU history. They married eight months later and lovingly raised five children. Jane’s Christian faith and devotion to God were paramount in her life, and she nurtured her family in accordance to her faith. She was passionate about educating children and helping people overcome disabilities, especially those hard of hearing. She co-founded the Self-Help for Hard of Hearing Support Group and worked closely with Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network. Her hobbies included hiking, fishing, skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, camping and traveling. Jane was compassionate and kind to everyone she met. Those left to cherish Jane’s memory include her brother, Clifton Williamson, Jr.; her children, Dr. Henry Hollier (Shaun), Philip Hollier (Lauren), Jan Hollier Chiles (Hank), Leslie Hollier du Plooy (Abrie), and Patrick Hollier; 11 grandchildren, Andrew Hollier, Kyle LaCroix, Erika LaCroix, Jack Hollier, Camille Hollier, Meredith Chiles, Christian Chiles, Lauren Whatley, Natalie Ritchie, Xander du Plooy and Leonardo du Plooy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Jack Hollier, Andrew Hollier, Christian Chiles, Hank Chiles, Abrie du Plooy and Xander du Plooy. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifton Williamson, Jr., Leonardo du Plooy and Kyle LaCroix. The Hollier family wishes to thank St. Joseph’s Hospice and all of the compassionate caregivers of Exceptional Home Care, LLC who cared for Jane over her last two years. Jane’s family also extends sincere thanks to Mary Mother of Jesus Catholic Church, especially her fellow parishioners who ministered to her through many compassionate home visits.
