She was preceded in death by her mother, her maternal grandparents, Thelma Moseley Farrar and John Hardeman Farrar and paternal grandparents, Virginia Stafford Kramer and Casper Philip Kramer, Jr. While growing up in Alexandria, she was affectionately known as, “the Kramer girl who rides her bike throughout the Garden District.” In 1986, Leila graduated from All Saints Episcopal School, Vicksburg, Mississippi and in 1992, received her B.S. degree in Human Resources Management from Brenau College, Gainesville, GA where she was a Merit Honor Scholar and received the IO Award, Outstanding Senior in 1992. After moving to Washington D.C., Leila entered American University and received her M. A. in Special Education: Learning Disabilities. At the time of her death, Leila was the Interim Assistant Director of the Disabilities Student Studies at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Leila has worked within the field of Learning Disabilities for over 20 years and was a certified life coach for ADHD/LD children and adults. Since Leila’s own learning disability had been diagnosed later in her academic career, it was her guiding mission that no child she worked with would ever “cry over homework” and with the correct tools in place, any problem could be solved. Leila was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Washington D.C. Leila belonged, and was active in, a multitude of professional organizations. Leila cherished being a part of Alumnae of Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity, a member of the Loyalty Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Louisiana, a member of the Jamestowne Society, member of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America. Leila had a love of life and shared it enthusiastically with her family and many friends. Sports were of special interest, especially the New York Yankees, the New Orleans Saints and Arnold Palmer. A highlight of her interest was attending, with her sister, the 2011 Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA, 2018 All Star Game in Washington, D.C. and the 2019 World Series with the Washington Nationals. She had a passion for golf, approached it with earnest and never failed to take her clubs along on trips. She enjoyed traveling to new places for a brief weekend or a longer adventure. Leila is survived by her father, Graham Kramer and his wife, Nell Shehee Kramer, of Alexandria, LA and her sister, Sarah Deming Kramer, of Alexandria, LA.
