Mary Jo Moorhead Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A chapel service for Mary Josephine Moorhead will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at John Kramer & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gearheard officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the funeral home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2022, in the Kramer chapel. Mary Jo Moorhead, 91, of Alexandria, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Moorhead and her parents, Louis H. Tumminello and Temple Rodgers Tumminello. Mary Jo was born on February 23, 1931, and raised in Colfax, Louisiana. From her teen years into adulthood, Mary Jo worked for La. Wholesale Distribution, the family business. In 1969, Mary Jo married her soulmate, Calvin "Cal" Moorhead, and together they lived in Alexandria. Mary Jo worked as a Legislative Assistant for Charlie Dewitt and became well-respected and took pride in what she did. From a young age, Mary Jo loved animals, especially horses. Riding her horses with her husband, daughters, and friends was her favorite pastime. Mary Jo was never far from her horse saddle, which she always had with her, in case an opportunity to ride arose. When she wasn’t tending to her animals, Mary Jo enjoyed planting flowers and tending to her vegetable garden. Mary Jo will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her two children, Jennifer Wolf Stevens (Scotty) and Robert A. “Drew” Wolf (Mary Anne); step-children, Cheryl Randall (Jack) and Larry Moorhead; four grandchildren, Robert Stevens (Jill), Jennifer Hamilton (Josh), Caroline Domingue (Scott), Stephen Wolf, and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Robert Stevens, David Wasson, Judson Wasson, Ethan Hamilton, Tyler Hamilton, and Josh Hamilton.
