Mavis Gunter Cranford

Mavis Gunter Cranford, of Woodworth, La. made the transition from this world to God’s Kingdom on Saturday morning, January 22, 2022, at the age of 85; a victim of Covid pneumonia. Mavis was a devout Christian and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria. She was a very caring, concerned, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always put the needs of others above her own. She always kept going despite suffering from the chronic pain of fibromyalgia. Mavis was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bill and Hattie Gunter of Lecompte, La. She had three (3) siblings, Edward Gunter of Forest Hill, La., also deceased, Dorothy Gunter Simmons of Stonewall, La. and Dean Gunter of Lecompte, La. She and Jimmie Cranford were married for sixty-six (66) years. They have four (4) children, Alainna Cranford of Woodworth, Cathy Bridges spouse David, Daryl Cranford spouse Selena, and Tim Cranford (deceased); nine (9) grandchildren, Michelle Bridges of Baton Rouge, Matthew Bridges of Baton Rouge, Jason Bridges (deceased), Tiffany Cranford Guillory of Forest Hill, Dustin Cranford of Woodworth, Sidney Crooks of Minnesota, Aaron Cranford of Alexandria, Brandon Cranford (deceased) and Candice Cranford (deceased); twelve (12) great-grandchildren; Jack Cranford, Kayli Cranford, Cody Crooks, Melanie Crooks, Eric Crooks, Austin Guillory, Ashton Guillory, Ashley Guillory, Mandy Turner, Max Turner, Wesley Bridges and Avery Bridges. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. John 11: 25 – 26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die.
