Patsy Smith Bostick went to be present with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2022. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Rapides Regional Hospital. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Mary Smith; husband, Jefferson “Jimmy” Bostick; brother, Nathan Brian Smith; and daughter, Denise Bostick. Patsy was born on November 14, 1945. She moved to Colfax as a child where she attended Colfax High School and graduated Salutatorian of her class. There she met her husband, Jimmy Bostick. Together they made a beautiful family of five children. She worked at Colfax Bank for 30 years, where she made many friends and put smiles on faces throughout the community. Patsy was a longtime member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and attended Bible studies at Colfax Baptist Church. Patsy loved to spend time with her family and her favorite dog, Dottie. She also was an avid reader, her favorite genres being mystery thrillers and poetry. Patsy had a quick wit, and a sense of humor that helped her and family get through life’s troubles. Those left to cherish her memory include her four children, Robin McQuillin (Rickey), Jefferson “Jeff” Bostick, Kimberly Bostick-Field, and Jason Bostick; her six grandchildren Kaitlyn Lindsey (Maxwell), Tyler Field, Michael Morris, Sara Morris, Jessica Headrick, and Taeler Monk; her sisters Zelda Stanford (Rick), Falena Price (Loderick), and Jolene Bond (widowed); and her caregiver, Kitty Wilson. The family would also like to thank Rapides Regional Hospital staff for the excellent care they gave Patsy as she transitioned through this life to be with the Lord. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Jeff Bostick, Jason Bostick, Tyler Field, Michael Morris, Michael Bostick, and Robby Dunaway. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennie Bostick, Chad Bonin, Maxwell Lindsey, Eddie Gatlin, and Ryan Yerby. John 11:25-26 “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?’” Patsy Smith Bostick believed. We await the resurrection. Glory to God. Charitable donations in Patsy’s memory can be made to Walnut Grove Baptist Church, 2204 Highway 492, Colfax, La., 71417.
