Richard Leighton Lucas

Funeral services for Richard Leighton Lucas will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home with The Very Reverend Richard Snow officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball. Visitation will be held from 10:30 until time for the service at the funeral home. Mr. Lucas, 94, was born on October 30, 1927, in New Orleans. He passed away on January 14, 2022, at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria. After graduating from Riverside Military Academy, Mr. Lucas served proudly in the U. S. Marines. He then earned a degree in psychology from Tulane University in 1948. He worked tirelessly as a New York Life Insurance agent for over 60 years and was involved in various local and state organizations throughout his career. Mr. Lucas was preceded in death by his parents, George Cook Lucas and Mabel Bond Lucas; wife Patricia Moreau Lucas; son Richard Daniel Lucas; grandson Scott Randall Lucas; brother George Bond Lucas; and sister Shirley Lucas Barentine. He is survived by his son George Luis Lucas; grandchildren Lauren Elizabeth Lucas, Dustin Daniel Lucas (Noelle), Todd Leighton Lucas (Krystal), George Barrett Lucas (Carol), Madison Forey Malone (Blake), and Kendall Cook Lucas (Etoro); great-grandchildren Kaegan Case, Jackson Scott Lucas, Kyson Steven Craig, Landry Michael Lucas, Penelope Jane Lucas, Kasten VanAsselberg and Maddox VanAsselberg; and daughter-in-law Debra Lucas. Pallbearers will be George Lucas, Dustin Lucas, Todd Lucas, Barrett Lucas, Blake Malone and Chuck Couvillion.
