Thomas "Tom" Searcy
April 10, 1940 - November 17, 2021
Thomas “Tom” Searcy, 81, of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Pineville. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, X.O. and Pearl Searcy; his first wife, Mary Isabel Bellino; his sister, Catherine Maxine Thomason; and his two brothers, Sam Allen Searcy, and Raymond Searcy. Tom was born April 10, 1940, in Mangham, Louisiana, and he graduated from Mangham High School. Tom owned Dixie Blueprint Services and was a true servant to the community. He opened the blueprint company in 1967 and operated that business for over 50 years. He was involved in many service-driven organizations including Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club, the Alexandria Exchange Club, the Elks Club and multiple other organizations. Tom’s passion for fishing helped him make long-lasting friendships over the many years he spent out on Toledo Bend. He was a member of multiple bass-fishing clubs and was also a Ducks Unlimited member. He shared his love of hunting and fishing with others through his ability to cook wonderful meals from the fish and game he procured. Tom always made the time to be heavily involved in his children’s sporting events at Menard High School. His family recalls that he oversaw one of, if not the most, successful “Menard Day” events in which funds were raised for the Menard athletic department. He enjoyed being involved in politics, both local and statewide, and hosted many events for those running for office. In all these hobbies and involvement with his family and friends, he always made his presence known by whistling or singing wherever he went. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Anne Wood Searcy; his children Thomas Bernard Searcy, Deborah Searcy Weiss, David Gregory Searcy (Keri), and John Paul Rodrigue; his grandchildren, Jade Isabella Searcy, Mason Thomas Searcy, Adam Martin Weiss, Madison Anne Searcy, and Lance Gregory Searcy; his great-grandson, Jules Wren Taylor; his brother, Elwyn “Peewee” Searcy; and his five sisters, Bobbie Hindman, Darlene Wiggins, Barbara Osborn, Beverly Lyle and Myrna Ward. The family would like to thank Still Waters Hospice and STAT Home Health for providing Tom excellent and generous care. It was Tom’s wish to have a celebration of his life rather than a formal funeral service. This will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Tom’s name be made to the Holy Savior Menard High School athletic department.
